Cody O’Rourke is the co-founder of the Good Shepherd Collective (GSC), a grassroots organization based in South Hebron Hills in the Palestinian Bedouin village of Um al-Khair.  He will discuss the current work of the Good Shepherd Collective focused on home demolitions and forced displacement of Palestinians in South Hebron Hills.  He will also address the role of Israeli settler organizations in the USA. The GSC sees the ongoing violence in Palestine/Israel as rooted in structural inequalities of the law.  Its aim is to develop strategic advocacy campaigns on both winnable and meaningful targets.

O’Rourke has been engaged on the ground in Palestine since 2005 and has lived in the Holy Land since 2012.  He has worked with the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, the Christian Peacemaker Teams, Defense for Children International, and Holy Land Trust.
