Sharif S. Elmusa reads poems from his book, Flawed Landscape, and from two unpublished manuscripts. He will also discuss Seeking Palestine, an anthology of memoirs by Palestinian writers and artists, including Elmusa himself. The book is edited by Penny Johnson and Raja Shehadeh.
Elmusa considers in the discussion whether there are “circles of exile;” that is, does, or how does, the place of a Palestinian residence affect one’s relationship to Palestine? The book has won the 2013 Best Book on Palestine Award by Middle East Monitor in London. The proceeds from both go to the annual Literary Festival in Ramallah.
