The Jerusalem Fund, a 501(c)(3)-registered private nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., announces a position available as Program, Communications, & Finance Assistant. This entry-level position serves as an assistant to the Executive Director, Program & Communications Manager, Finance, Grants & Development Associate, and Gallery Curator. The Assistant handles program support, administrative, and finance tasks related to the smooth and efficient functioning of the office and events. Read more about the organization at


Program and Event Support

  • Helps update the website and manages email distribution to listserv
  • Coordinates event emails, online announcements, and publicity; maintains RSVP lists for all events
  • Helps coordinate event planning, staffing, set-up, and clean-up for weekly and major events, including but not limited to re-arranging chairs/tables, duplicating informational materials, ordering catered food, working with AV equipment (microphones, projector, lighting, Livestream feed, etc.)
  • Helps edit videos of The Jerusalem Fund’s events
  • Helps design Palestine Center publications as well as Jerusalem Fund informational materials
  • Coordinates social media postings and maintains calendar, in addition to compiling weekly analytics reports
  • Assists the Program & Communications Manager in the administration of the internship program

Administration Support

  • Staffs reception desk and monitors visitors
  • Receives and distributes Jerusalem Fund mail
  • Answers 4-line phone system and takes messages. Monitors main Jerusalem Fund email account
  • Orders office and kitchen supplies and maintains office inventory
  • Assists in mailings
  • Coordinates with building for maintenance requests

Finance & Grants Support

  • Helps update information in our donor management system
  • Assists in processing donations and donor thank-you letters
  • Helps with entering donations and other deposits into the QuickBooks accounting software
  • Assists with review of grant applications
  • Researches grant opportunities and other projects
  • Provides overall backup support to the Finance, Grants, & Development Associate



  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree with 1 year office experience. 
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, HTML, WordPress, etc.) is a must
  • Experience using social media in a professional capacity (preferred)
  • Comfortable with numbers and knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software (preferred)
  • A professional and friendly demeanor, punctual, responsible, and able to work as part of a team. 
  • Strong spoken and written English skills, Arabic language skills (preferred)
  • Some event coordination experience (preferred)
