Grant Guidelines

The Jerusalem Fund extends grants to non-governmental groups that provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians living in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and Israel. The Fund also supports efforts that help Palestinians tell their story to Western audiences. Grants are made for charitable, educational, or medical assistance program activities and for emergency relief.

A great number of worthwhile proposals are received each year, however many requests for funding must be denied due to funding limitations. Successful grants are likely to have a multiplier effect and build sustainable capacity for socio-economic and cultural development. Support is not normally given for routine operating expenses of institutions or for religious activities. Typical grant awards range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Applications are accepted on a year-round basis and are evaluated quarterly by the Board of Directors. Applicants must complete the Fund's two application forms (a profile of the applying institution and a proposal of the project to be funded) and submit these in electronic format to the Jerusalem Fund. Deadlines for receiving grants are:

January 15 for consideration at the Spring Board meeting

April 15 for consideration at the Summer Board meeting

July 15
for consideration at the Fall Board meeting

October 15
for consideration at the Winter Board meeting
