Yousef Munayyer Named Palestine Center Executive Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. (24 September 2009) – The Jerusalem Fund Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Yousef Munayyer as Executive Director of The Fund and its educational program, the Palestine Center. His appointment became official on 24 September 2009.

Mr. Munayyer comes to The Jerusalem Fund from the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) where he served in multiple capacities over the last 5 years. While at ADC, Munayyer worked as a Special Assistant to the President, Communications Director and a Policy Analyst. He is currently completing his doctoral degree in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland. His research is focused on political conflict, interstate and domestic conflict as well as ethnic cleansing and political repression. He frequently writes on matters of foreign policy in the Arab and Muslim world and civil rights and liberties issues. His Op-Eds have appeared in numerous national newspapers such as the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Globe and the San Francisco Chronicle. He has been sought for comment on various national and international media outlets.
