A Palestine Center Interview
with
Amb. Afif Safieh
Palestinian Ambassador
PLO Ambassador-at-large Afif Safieh sat down with us at the Palestine Center for an extensive interview. He has been working with the PLO for several decades in a variety of capacities and served as Ambassador in the Vatican, London, Washington and Moscow. In 2009, he was elected to Fatah’s Revolutionary Council.
Amb. Safieh answers questions regarding the new reconciliation agreement between Hamas/Fatah, the future of Salam Fayyad as Prime Minister, the role of Washington in the "Peace Process" and the impending drive for Palestine’s membership in the United Nations. We
reviewed
Amb. Safieh’s most recent book
The Peace Process: From Breakthrough to Breakdown
, and
he spoke
on this subject previously at the Palestine Center.
