Humanitarian Link Donate

The Humanitarian Link program extends grants to hospitals, orphanages, clinics, schools, universities and civil society organizations in the Occupied Territory and surrounding refugee camps in an effort to sustain the basic conditions of life in Palestine and to overcome the burdens of occupation. In addition to regular grant making throughout the year, the Humanitarian Link program supports its special project, the Palestine Diabetes Institute. This newly opened medical facility in Al-Bireh, Palestine will work to combat the epidemic of diabetes confronting the Palestinian people.

The Grantee of the Month

The Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation - Habilitation Preschool is our featured grantee of the month. The Jerusalem Fund has a long-standing relationship with the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation. They established a specialized preschool for children with disabilities in the refugee camps of Beirut. They reach the needs of the children through customized therapy and assistive aids as well as continued education for the children and their families. Read more...

The Palestine Diabetes Institute

The Palestine Diabetes Institute was launched in July 2009 and staff trained for more than a year in preparation. The PDI offers treatment for Palestinians who are facing diabetes in epidemic proportions and will not get the necessary medical attention otherwise. The Ministry of Health estimates that 9 out of every 100,000 Palestinians perish yearly from the disease. Lack of free movement and the inability to seek medical attention abroad makes a local diabetes institute an imperative for those in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
