An American Family in the Middle East
by Ammanda Seelye & Kate Seelye
Friday, 6 November, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
This multimedia installation explores the history of one American family’s 166-year engagement with the Middle East, using mixed media collages, super-8 video and archival material to tell the story of a rich and evolving relationship between America and the Arab world. Artist Amanda Seelye and videographer Kate Seelye create art to tell an intimate story about their family’s enduring connection to the Middle East and its impact on their own sense of identity and belonging.
